Terram arises from a laborious creation process, inspired by the dynamics of Earth’s cycles. The name Terram comes from Latin, meaning land or plot, which humans are part of; the restaurant owner wanted to create a gastronomic space highlighting the concept of “earth” and savoring the products it provides us.
At one of the entrance gates to the Via Augusta in Girona, during Roman times, and one of the nerve points connecting the city with nature through the Valley of Sant Daniel, we find the Terram restaurant.
The goal was to create this desired space for the owner, for diners to immerse themselves in a unique, original, and surprising experience, discovering the essence of each product from our surroundings in the gastronomic composition, with the professional challenge and demand this entails.
For all these reasons, the architectural project, derived from the working philosophy of the restaurant team, could not be overlooked. The space's architecture aims to awaken all the senses to the fullest and ensure that diners connect from the start with the harmony and spirit of the culinary proposal.
The use of noble materials from the environment, such as river reeds, Roman-era stone repurposed as a sink, copper for the water pipes, cypress forming the bar, ceramic for the kitchen walls, pine for the tables and windows, and the treatment of the space to feel like home, are by no means in vain.
